Red-Eye Removal

Upload a flash photo and Pixlane rewrites the red channel of the pupils so eyes look natural again. The search is scoped to the eye band of each detected face, which is what keeps red lips, jumpers and props from being altered — switch to whole-image mode when a face is not found.

Red Eye Removal — Fix Flash Red Eye in Photos Online

Fix flash red-eye in photos — the red pupil is neutralised while the eye keeps its own shading.

Upload a flash photo and Pixlane rewrites the red channel of the pupils so eyes look natural again. The search is scoped to the eye band of each detected face, which is what keeps red lips, jumpers and props from being altered — switch to whole-image mode when a face is not found.

How to Use It

  1. Upload your image and wait for the local preview to load.
  2. Adjust the settings — Choose where to look, then tune detection sensitivity, correction strength, and pupil darkening before picking the output format.
  3. Download the result — Download the processed file directly to your device.

Controls and Options

Raise sensitivity if red remains; lower it if natural skin tones shift, and use pupil darkening so the corrected eye keeps depth.

Formats and Output

Input: JPG, PNG, WebP. Output: JPG, PNG, or WebP. PNG and WebP avoid a second lossy pass over the corrected eyes.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why scope the search to faces?

Red-eye shares its colour signature with lips, jumpers, and plenty of props. Restricting the scan to the eye band of each detected face is what stops those areas from being altered. If no face is detected the tool falls back to a whole-frame pass.

Will the pupils look grey and flat?

The red channel is replaced with the neutral grey of the green and blue channels rather than a fixed colour, and the pupil darkening control adds depth back, so the eye keeps its own shading.

Does it work on animal red-eye?

Animal eyeshine is usually green, yellow, or blue rather than red, so this tool does not target it. Whole-image mode may still reduce strongly red animal eyes.

What if some red remains?

Raise the detection sensitivity. If natural skin or lip tones start shifting instead, lower it and raise the correction strength.
